BANGOR, Maine (AP) — The Bangor State Fair is getting under way for the 163rd year.

The 10-day fair opens Friday at the Bass Park complex and continues through Aug. 5.

The fair is one of the largest in Maine, drawing 60,000 to 70,000 people a year. It features a midway, animal exhibits, music, crafts, animal-pulling events and harness racing.
